Why did you want to become an archaeologist?
Dr. dig responds:
I didn't always want to be an archaeologist. When I was a kid, I wanted to be a marine biologist because my older brother loved sharks and took scuba-diving lessons.
As I got older, I grew to love other sciences, such as geology and biology, and I also enjoyed doing art. It wasn't until I went to college that I became interested in archaeology. I discovered that I could combine my love of science and the outdoors with my skills as an artist to draw maps and artifacts for my professors.
During my summer vacations, I volunteered on excavations and I've been involved in archaeology ever since!
