Questions about becoming an archaeologist

Do you have to pass a physical fitness test to be an archaeologist?

Dr. dig responds:
Well, if you thought you might have to undergo the same kind of physical feats as Indiana Jones, then you might want to make sure that you were fit enough beforehand to survive all those ancient booby traps!

Although archaeological sites are not really rigged with traps as they are in the movies, being an archaeologist does mean being willing to be physically active. We don't require fitness tests, however, though we do think mental fitness is important. So, if you want to become an archaeologist, remember to eat your Wheaties for breakfast, and study hard!
