Questions about digging

What do archaeologists find out from digs?

Dr. dig responds:
Archaeologists excavate old stuff because they want to find out about people who lived long ago. Archaeologists are able to discover so many interesting things about people who lived long ago, from what kinds of clothes they wore, what food they ate, and how they lived to what gods they worshipped, what language they spoke and how they played games.

Even the tiniest remains, such as a small coin or the pollen left in the bottom of a jar can reveal wonderful things about a past culture. Sometimes the smallest discovery says the most about a culture. What can you say about your own culture from a single penny?
