General archaeology questions for Dr. dig

I was just wondering what the difference between archaeology and anthropology is.

Dr. dig responds:
Anthropology is the scientific study of Man. Anthropologists mainly study the physical characteristics of man, human origins, human behavior, human societies, and culture.

Archaeology is the scientific study of the material remains of past human life and activities, such as artifacts and monuments.

What is anthropological archaeology/archaeological anthropology?

Dr. dig responds:
Anthropologists are interested in human activity and behavior and its development. Anthropologists are interested in why we are who are, and why cultures behave differently from others.

To do this, some anthropologists study human culture and behavior by examining the archaeological remains, or undertaking archaeological excavations themselves for this purpose.

That is to say, anthropological archaeologists are more interested in finding out about the patterns of human culture and behavior than in the historic events or artistic achievements which come as the result of human activity.
