The Aztecs were skilled musicians and dancers, and both music and dance played an important part in rituals and ceremonies. They used a variety of instruments, including several different types of drums, rattles, gongs, shell trumpets, pottery flutes and whistles. They also had a strong tradition of literature and poetry, and enjoyed feasting.
