Questions about the Middle East

What did Babylonians wear?

Dr. dig responds:
The Babylonians knew how to make cloth, so they wore clothes made from woven fabric. They probably also wore shoes, sandals and clothes made from leather. Many fabrics were brightly colored with natural dyes.

Because items like textiles are only occasionally preserved, archaeologists have to rely on paintings, sculptures and decorative metalwork for their evidence of what people wore in the days of ancient Babylon.

You can do research just like an archaeologist by finding pictures from ancient Babylon in books you find in your local or public library.
